Dry Brushing of the skin stimulates the body's own systems to work more effectively, supporting:  efficient skin function, relaxation of the nervous system, appropriate resting muscle tone, healthy blood and lymph circulation and strong immune protection for the body.

Benefits of Dry Brushing include:

1) Boosted Lymphatic Drainage: Dry brushing improves the natural flow of lymph fluid through a healthy lymphatic system, helping you keep your body free of fluid accumulation, and strengthening your immune system.

2) Increased Blood Circulation: Applying the light pressure of brush strokes to the blood vessels immediately under the skin helps stimulate blood flow. This allows vital nutrients to better circulate around your body, and assists with the systemic waste removal process.

3) Reduced Stress & Anxiety: Gentle brushing affects the nerves under the skin, providing a soothing effect on the nervous system, reducing the circulation of stress hormones, and leaving you feeling calm and refreshed.

A typical session consists of long brush strokes throughout the body, generally, directed towards the heart and lymph drainage sites.  The therapist may decide to follow long brush strokes with: smoothing techniques, Swedish massage, flushing techniques and/or aromatherapy, depending on the client's presentation. For sessions longer than 60 minutes, a variety of other massage and bodywork techniques may be included, as indicated by your individual needs.
